Configure your Windows Vista/7 Firewall:

If you are unable to connect to the download network, your Windows Vista or 7
firewall may not be properly configured to allow access to MP3 Rocket:

Configure your Windows Vista/7 Firewall:

  1. Go to Start > Control Panel,
  2. Open Network and Internet,
  3. Click on Allow a Program through Windows Firewall,
  4. Click on the General tab,
  5. If your firewall is On (recommended), go to step 7,
  6. If you want to enable the Windows Vista/7 firewall, click the radio button beside On and then
    click Apply at the bottom. (If you are not interested in enabling your Windows Vista/7 firewall,
    hit Cancel -- MP3 Rocket will not be affected),
  7. Click on the Exceptions tab at the top,
  8. Click the Add Program button,
  9. Find MP3 Rocket in the list and add it,
  10. Now, click on the Add Port button,
  11. In the Name field, enter Gnutella, and in the Port Number field, enter 6346. Make sure the
    TCP radio button is selected (checked),
  12. Click on OK,
  13. Now, click on the Add Port button again,
  14. In the Name field enter Gnutella, and in the Port Number field, enter 6346. Make sure the
    UDP radio button is selected (checked),
  15. Click OK, and
  16. Make sure the list of services has two items labeled Gnutella, and make sure they are both checked.

  17. Click OK.
